Okay, so I forgot (again) to do my Manic Monday post. But, that's okay. We're not in the thick of winter yet where the boredom has really set it.
Yesterday, I went with some friends from my church to clean the house of a family from our church.
Their 14 year old son is coming home this week from the hospital, where he's been for almost three months fighting cancer.
Their house needed to be clear of all the dust and debris that had been accumulating there while the other three kids in the family have been trying to carry on normal lives with their parents coming and going back and forth from home to the hospital. (Wow, that was a long sentence.) Their house has had some renovations as well, so you can imagine the dust that coated everything!
We're so excited that this awesome fella is going to get to come back home with his family!!
The rest of the day consisted of doing a little bit of sewing and then mostly lounging around and then going grocery shopping. It was potluck night at our small group and I made sweet and sour vegetarian meatballs, which are simply delicious. I do modify this recipe a bit, mainly I don't use the nuts because they are expensive and the recipe is delicious without them. I also skip on the sage, simply because I don't have any (though I should get some) and I just use other seasonings as I see fit.
Anyway, so that was my Monday. Not very manic. And not very interesting. But, I do hope to hop back on the Manic Monday train soon and do some fun things with my little guy.
But...this weekend is Handmade City, so I must dedicate myself to crafting all week, as much as possible!
Meanwhile, as I type, Burkley is exploring the contents of my wallet.
