14 Month Update

Wanted to take a moment to update ya'll about our sweet babe, C. He's just too silly and adorable. We love him to bits.

Cadriel is now 14 months old. Despite pulling up and cruising way back at seven months old, he is finally just now starting to walk. He is choosing to walk more and more, but mostly he chooses to bear crawl around everywhere. He will get up and walk though if we tell him, "Cadriel, step step!"

He has two words, "Uh!" (uh-oh) and "Gah!" (dog). He signs "Please," "More," "Potty," "All done," and waves hi and bye.

He can climb/scale pretty much any surface by the time I turn around from picking something off the floor. He likes to throw balls and roll/chase them all over the house.

At his 1-year checkup in his Skivvies :)
Have I mentioned how much I love EC? C rocks at it. He has been in undies since a week after his first birthday. Lately he is signaling more and more to go. He'll sign "potty" when he needs to go or make it otherwise obvious. The other day we were playing outside at my SIL's house and he climbed on her porch and stood at the door crying and knocking on it. I thought to myself, "I wonder if he has to go potty," but then thought that seemed a bit impressive if he did. So I waited a few minutes and then thought I should go check him, and sure enough, he was wet! And then the next day we were at Marcus's parents' house and C came up to me and tried to climb in my lap. I held him for a moment and then put him back on the floor to play. Then he sat down and grabbed at his drawstring on his shorts while looking at me. Then he came back up to me on the couch and he was wet! I wasn't paying attention to his signals, but he was trying to tell me he had to go!

He has his first official illness...a double ear infection. Poor babe. We've had three nights of him thrashing about in bed and WAILING for hours on end. We were all getting extremely exhausted. Finally I thought maybe I should have him checked. There were no other symptoms of anything as far as I could tell, just screaming during the night. Sure enough, poor guy, his ears were the culprit!

He loves his Daddy so much. When Marcus comes home, Cadriel squeals with delight and demands to be in Daddy's arms as fast as is humanly possible.

I love watching this little guy play and figure things out. He really watches and picks up on so much. He is so sweet and loving. He is wild and crazy. He is precious. We just love him so much!

  1. He does look like quite the little climber! I love the picture of him on the table, we still have to lay the kitchen chairs on their sides at times to keep our climbers off, but I guess you don't have that option. I love C 's chubby cheeks, I hope he keeps them around for a while, he is so cute!
