Madison Vacation

For our anniversary this year, my parents gave us a weekend getaway family vacation. We were so surprised and grateful! We chose to go to Madison, WI because we had never been there before and heard it was a great city to visit. We wanted somewhere relatively close since road-tripping with children is not usually oodles of fun.

We got to enjoy many things on our trip. Lots of good food (that I didn't have to plan for, shop for, cook, or clean up after!), a children's museum, a zoo, swimming at the hotel, visiting the capitol building, visiting some family, and lots of walking around. It was great!

The weather was crappy, but I didn't care. We've had a rough few weeks around here with everyone being sick and cooped up and crabby, so I was determined to make the best of this vacation. Drizzly and cool made it feel adequately like a  fall getaway. :)

The kids were cute, as were the various places we stopped. This little cafe had an adorable kids' corner.

The children's museum was fabulous, plus, we got in for free thanks to the reciprocal membership program we've got with our local membership.

We had a fun time! I'm so thankful we go to take a little trip and spend some quality time as a family. It's something we'd never be able to afford on our own, so I'm so grateful for the gift!
