Some things we've been up to...
We've all been sick.
It started with Burkley having allergies for two days, which turned into pink eye for three days, which turned into hives for two days. I doused him my breastmilk and essential oils and any other natural remedy I could think of and was bummed when I finally had to take him in for some meds. But, I was thankful for the world of medicine on the other hand when after three days of steroids and seven of Zyrtec he was feeling much better.
Then Marcus got sick...the annoying, gross flu-like cold with a sore throat, incessant cough, runny/stuffy nose, headache--you know the kind. Then as he was starting to feel better after a week, I got it! I'm on day five now...and you guessed it, Cadriel now is coughing and when he wakes up from naps, his eyes are crusted shut. Poor thing, it's his first sickness and he just keeps letting out this sweet soft little moans. Hopefully his isn't as bad nor as long as we all had it.
Speaking of Cadriel, we have started babyled weaning! I can't believe he's already six months old. He's already tried pears, apples, guacomole, refried beans, broccoli, and bananas. He's not quite as gung-ho about food as Burkley was, but after a few days of trying things, he's starting to learn what to expect and is no longer giving the look of utter disgust like we offended him to the utmost by offering him food. He's still mostly just playing with it at this point, which is fine!
Speaking of being six months old, this kid is all over the place. Crawling and scooting and just so adorable. He gets to where he wants to be and he gets there quickly. Still learning actual crawling movements, but the basics are there enough that he gets from room to room to get his toys and whatever else he wants. My favorite thing is to give him a ball or a cup and whenever he tries to grab it, it rolls away from him, and then he has to keep crawling to go get it. Keeps him entertained while I cook dinner.
Over the weekend we went to the local hot air balloon festival. It was pretty neat. Unfortunately everything cost a bazillion dollars to do, so we just hung out and watched, but Burkley didn't seem too bummed by that. He did, however, get mad at me trying to take his picture.
Here was one of the balloons. There were several and we go to watch them fill them up--first with cold air, then with the hot air.
So, that's our past week (or two) in a nutshell.
We're going on vacation soon, and I'm so excited! More on that next week sometime!

And then they lit them up, which was really cool!
