Naptime

My baby's first nap in his crib at 4 months, 3 weeks old...

I know this nap situation is breaking all sorts of "rules".
According to safety precautions, a baby should be put to sleep on his back.
Yeah, well, my baby won't sleep on his back.
Babies should not be put in cribs with stuffed animals or blankets, for fear of suffocation.
But, I didn't intend on putting my baby so sleep in his crib, so I didn't take things out.
Plus, he can't roll yet, so I figured he was safe.
I rocked him in his room and he fell asleep.
I thought I'd lay him down and see what happened.
I laid down a burp cloth in case he spit up.
I covered him with a blanket because it's pretty cold in his room (part of the reason why he hasn't slept there yet.)
He slept for an hour.
Oh, and I had the baby monitor's volume on full-blast. :)

Normally he naps on the couch next to me. But, he's getting to the point where noises are waking him up, and since my nieces were coming over to play, I thought we'd try it!

We still cosleep during the night.

I'm so proud of my little guy, but I'm also proud of myself! It was hard to let him sleep away from me, but I do think he got better rest. Maybe once the weather gets nicer, we'll make it more of a habit.

But, today it's cold again, so he's napping right next to me on the couch. :)
