Fun Mail!

Man! What a week it's been for fun mail!

I have been blessed by several random gifts this week from some women I've known for awhile, someone I've only met once, and someone I've never even met!

One of my dear friends from church gave me the wonderful gift of two months of Netflix to enjoy while we're bedresting waiting for Baby C's arrival! What a splendid gift...and what a great way to get my husband and me hooked on Downton Abbey. :)

Then, in a fun, fragrant package from Patti over at Canadian Unschooler (one of my favorite blogs!), I received this book that several of my friends and family members have been raving about for awhile now. Have you read One Thousand Gifts? I'm excited to start it!

But wait, that's not all! Patti also sent me a few essential oils! No, friends, frankincense is not just one of the gifts the wise men brought the baby Jesus. :) It is a real thing! And now I have some! And I've used it! How fantastic. She included a hand-written note explaining what each oil is best used for and I feel so blessed to get try these out and experience their amazing healing properties. What a thoughtful gift from a person who has really influenced me so much although I've never even met her.

Then, I received my gift from Heather at Bent River Bobbins! Holy moly, these snack packs are amazing. My bestie got Burkley a snack pack set for his birthday back in October and after packing him lunches and snacks in these adorable reusable bags so much, I was really wanting a set of my own. So, I took a look over at Heather's FB page and was excited to find she was hosting a giveaway! I literally have never ever won a giveaway, so I was hesitant to even enter, but I figured, hey, why not? And what do you know, I won!!! I won a $20 gift certificate and I used it to get myself this adorable snack pack with the green trees. She even threw in a little robot bag for my son, which I was adoring at the craft show I recently participated in...where I happened to meet Heather for the first time! She is a local mama whose crafts seriously rock.

And then!!! Then!!!!! Oh my. Yesterday, to my surprise, a big package came in the mail. My hubby and I stared at it for a bit stumped trying to figure out what either of us had ordered. He opened it for me (have I mentioned here on my blog that I seriously injured my finger a couple of weeks before Christmas opening a package in the mail? As in, I need to have surgery to repair the nerve damage, but am holding off until after Baby C comes? Not sure I have mentioned that...) as he now does all of our big packages to avoid me getting injured again. I could not believe my eyes! Who sent it!? I tried to guess. I thought maybe it was my mom or a few friends that may have gifted me with this. It had to be someone who reads the blog since I've mentioned my desire for a laminator lately. I asked hubby if there was a note and there was! Some dear friends of ours whom we met in the childbirth classes we teach had sent it! Last week my hubby and gone over to try to help them fix their heater and they sent us (me) this as a thank-you! How sweet!

I'm so thankful for all of these gifts! What excitement the mail has brought us lately! I wish I was as thoughtful as these people-- you know the type of people who do random acts of kindness and random gift-giving? Yeah, I am really crappy at that sort of thing. I wish I could be better! I will try.

But right now I think I need to go laminate something... :)
